A Special Day

Today was a special day. Not only was it our 45th wedding anniversary but it also was the day Victoria had her bridal shower in preparation for her and Steve's wedding in November. Victoria's sister Chantel was the hostess for the party. She flew in from New York and, along with Victoria's bridesmaids, put together a lovely celebration. Here are a few photos from the party.

anniversary trip to Tucson

We drove to Loew's Ventana Canyon Resort yesterday (Sunday) and had a lovely dinner at an Italian restaurant, Vero Amare  which we haven't been to before. Here are a few shots of the resort and its grounds.

 

This morning we decided to drive up to Mt. Lemmon. It was a scenic drive and we stopped to take some pictures on the way up.

 Mount Lemmon is at 7700 feet above sea level and it was 64 degrees when we got there. It looked like a monsoon storm was heading in that direction. 

The real reason we came to Tucson was to see our friends Rob and Harriette.  45 years ago I was a bridesmaid in their wedding in July 1968. Three weeks later Rob was Mel's best man at our wedding August 10th 1968. Rob and Harriette live in Washington state.  They often visit Arizona because Rob's brother lives here.  We had dinner with them tonight at one of our favorite restaurants to celebrate 45 years of marriage and friendship.

It was an action-packed day at the Science Museum with the girls today!  Two and a half hours of non-stop fun!  But they were both sound asleep 5 minutes after they got back in the car.  Here are a few photos.
