Next stop: Adelaide

Saturday we took a commuter flight from Melbourne to Adelaide. The 50 minute flight was uneventful except for the fact that, when we landed, we were in a time zone 30 minutes behind the one we had just left. That was different!

Adelaide is the capital of the state of South Australia. (Australia has six states and two territories.) Our first stop was Cleland Wildlife Park. It is a large expanse where indigenous animals like koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and emus roam the grounds. We got up close and personal to most of them. It was a fun experience.

Our next activity was a home hosted dinner in Adelaide. Eight of us went to the home of Antoinette where she and her friend Helena had prepared a feast. The ladies were very welcoming, and we had a wonderful time with lots of wine and very good food. It was a fun way to get to know some Australians one-on-one in a relaxed atmosphere.  And it's one of my favorite activities on OAT trips.
