Visiting a Porcelain Factory

On our way to Lisbon yesterday we stopped at the Vista Alegre Porcelain Factory, famous for its fine quality products since 1824.  We were given an interesting guided tour of the factory including the painting and firing process after each color of paint is added to a piece. We saw examples of some of the earliest pieces the company produced to exquisite pieces that are being hand-painted in the artists' studio today.  A beautiful chapel is located on the factory grounds also.
