Saying goodbye to Scotland

This has been a wonderful introduction to Scotland.  We only saw parts of it, and this blog can't do justice to even those areas we visited.

The Referendum coming up in a few days which will decide if Great Britain stays or leaves the EU is the hottest topic in the news.  Although we talked to only a handful of Scots about it, the small shop owners told us they would vote "in" because they didn't know how the tax codes would be affected if they left the EU.  One of the newspapers claimed that Scotland's vote to remain in could make the difference.   It's a huge decision for them.

Robert Burns. the famous Scottish writer and poet, wrote about his homeland in a
lovely poem titled "My Heart's in the Highlands".  I can appreciate it now.  Here's a link to it
